ZINE CONTENT

What content will be allowed in the zine?

We will be allowing art/writing of all characters from Date Everything! This includes all 102 dateables as well as the side characters (Tom, Sam, David, Franklin, etc.). We are not allowing OCs to be depicted. While this is a 18+ zine, some content we will NOT make exceptions for. This includes non-con, extreme violence, underage content (ALL content must portray the Date Everything! characters which are explicitly portrayed as 18+). During our pitching period, if you are uncertain if your ideas are a correct fit for the zine, you will be welcome to reach out to a mod to discuss ahead of finalizing your pitches. Generally, however, if your idea does not directly include any of these themes, it should be fine to include (with a content/trigger warning, if you agree to it). The game does tackle heavier and triggering topics which we will abide to in this zine, so please consider triggers (content-aware feature ;) ).

Will every character be represented in the zine?

While we would LOVE to represent every character in the game, we unfortunately cannot predict if this will be the case. We will be keeping more popular characters (Dorian, Eddie & Volt, Chance, Betty, etc) on a raffle basis and restricting how many pieces they are represented in. We will highly encourage contributors to include more than one character in their pieces.

Will NSFW be allowed in this zine?

Yes! We will be allowing NSFW content and applicants will be able to signify if they'd like to contribute an NSFW piece on the application. We will be releasing this portion as a digital add-on with the SFW physical copy.

Do I need to create original work for the zine or can I submit pieces I've already created and/or posted publicly?

All pieces submitted are required to be original works for the zine and are to be kept secret unless the mod team deems otherwise.

Is the zine looking for a specific style?

Not particularly. We DO expect our artists' final pieces to be fully colored/rendered.

Is the player character allowed in depiction?

We are only allowing homeowner to be depicted as they are in game. We are trying to make the focus solely on the games characters!

CONTRIBUTOR INFORMATION

How many contributors will this zine have?

We will have a total of 45 contributors. 35 page artists, 5 merch artists (give or take), and 5 writers. Page artists will have the choice of whether or not they'd like to also contribute spot art.

What will be the word count for writers?

The word count will range between 1,500 to 3,000 words.

What kind of pieces are page artists making?

Page artists will be making one piece that will cover an entire page of the zine. Some artists may pitch to create a spread or comic as well.

Will contributors receive free copies of the zine?

All contributors will receive the digital zine for free! We are also aiming to be able to compensate all contributors with the physical copy and bundles as thanks for contributing their time and efforts. Whether or not we're able to do this is wholly dependent on sales.

Am I allowed to drop out if something happens where I can no longer contribute to the zine?

Of course! We understand that this is a long commitment and life just happens. We are allowing applicants to apply as "pinch hitters" so if you do have to drop out, we have others to bring on in emergencies.

If i apply as a pinch hitter, what will be the cut off date for when you stop calling them in?

Since we are aiming to have all final submissions in by Feburary 15th, we will stop calling on pinch hitters Janurary 1st IF we still have the need.

How old do I have to be to participate as a contributor?

Due to the nature of the zine, all contributors MUST be 18 years and older.

APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN UNTIL OCTOBER 20, 2025!

How quickly you apply has zero effect on your chance of acceptance. In other words, take your time as these are open until October 20th. We do ask that you only submit ONE of each form (if applicable). This means you ARE allowed to apply for a page artist, merch artist, and a writer spot but you will only be accepted as ONE of these should you be accepted. You will not be able to edit your responses/submissions after submitting your application. However, you can always add images/posts to your extended portfolio should you choose to link one. We will be posting reminders about applications closing up until the very last day. No applicant will be formally judged until after applications close. Contributor-specific requirements are listed in each form.
